A case of criminal contempt has been filed in the Uttarakhand High Court against Justice Lokpal Singh for allegedly using inappropriate language against lawyers, including a former judge and a woman lawyer.<\/p>\n

The case against Justice Singh has been filed by an advocate CK Sharma.<\/p>\n

The petition has been filed in light of remarks made by Singh against Sharma and his colleague Soniya, according to Bar & Benches.<\/p>\n

Lawyers at the Uttarakhand High Court at Nainital had earlier boycotted the court of Justice Lokpal Singh, in protest against alleged misbehaviour towards the Bar members.<\/p>\n

The protests reportedly began after Justice Singh made disparaging remarks against the lawyers and also imposed a penalty of Rs 2 lakh on them following which the Uttarakhand High Court Bar Association called for boycotting the Court No 7.<\/p>\n

The boycott of the court of Justice Lokpal Singh was later called off following assurances from the judge.<\/p>\n
